Beryllium Copper Alloys
Our beryllium copper alloy range is the most often used beryllium copper alloy compared to commercial copper alloys. It is famous for demonstrating the highest strength and hardness of any commercial copper alloy. It has a similar strength and hardness to steel, which is a good thing. In a peak aged condition, its ultimate Rockwell and tensile hardness values are in the 200 ksi range and RC 45, respectively. Our alloy is generally utilized in applications requiring high electric or thermal conductivity, such as those in the aerospace industry. The range of beryllium copper alloys provides excellent strength and hardness characteristics, as well as conductivity in the range of 45-60 percent of copper, with ultimate hardness and tensile properties approaching RB 100 and 140 ksi, respectively, and conductivity in the range of 45-60 percent of copper.
